Ryan- I think I downloaded major scales from your website yesterday when I found out a student didn't know how to play his scales. I used a search engine on "scales and fingerings" or something and your site came up second on the list  :)

Ryan -- 02/12/2004, 05:53:53 -- #1076594033
Cool!  I'm glad it's getting used alot (it's one of my most downloaded things actually)...it sure was a pain to format it in Finale like that, but well worth it apparently :)

Can't see your files
Hello Ryan, I have been trying to look at your list of files here but it always times out after showing me only two different ones.  Specifically I am looking for the Finale version of all the modes you made once.  Do you still make this available?  Perhaps I'm only seeing two files in your list because that's all there are?

Thanks

Hi Bardolph,

Sorry about that.  Unfortunately, my files section seems to have been corrupted and has been inaccessible for some time.  I can't even access any of them.  If Scot can't or doesn't have time right now to fix it, I think I'll go ahead and start a new room and re-upload things when I have a moment...then maybe Scot can just delete this old room.  What do you think Scot?  Anyway, stay tuned, and I'll see what I can do.

What's the matter with your files ?
I was looking in your personal room, but for some reason your files don't appear. Any hint on how to get your files displayed ?

Regards, C3002

Hi, sorry about that.  Unfortunately, there's nothing that I can do on my end.  The files section to my room has been broken for months now...I've already mentioned it to Scot and have asked that he either delete or repair the room when he has time...like all of us, I know he's extremely busy.

After one of those things happens, then I'll either re-upload everything in the Composition room, create a new room, or everything just might work again :).  Until then, if you're interested, you can check out an analysis that I just uploaded in the composition room on melody, harmony and rhythm of 3 standard tunes by T.S. Monk.

Sorry about that, I didn't know I had a private message in here!

What exactly is the problem?  For me when I click on the files link, nothing at all happens. It just sits there and waits. Is this what is happening for the rest of you?

Off  the top of my head I can't think of any reason for this to happen, but I can dig into it.

What I need before I get started are details of what everyone is experiencing to help me refine my search for the bug.

Ryan -- 02/17/2005, 17:57:49 -- #11299
No problem!  Basically what you just described is it, although you should find that if you wait long enough, eventually two of the files will show up (the first two that are listed.)  If you click on them though, it times out again.  That's been the consensus as far as I can tell...thanks!

Finale bugs.
Hy Ryan:
How may i change tempo in a finale score?
i need to change tempo in some parts of same tune. I see "tempo tool", i write the new value and the measures, but it does not function.
May you help me? Thanks in advance.

Finale Tempo
Hi Albetan,

Well, I don't use Finale much anymore, but the way I used to do it was through the manual tempo tool on my toolbar.  Even though I would type in a tempo like you, I'd have to change that to get it to work.  There's probably a more efficient way, but I'm not up on it.  I've attached a TIF file of a screenshot to help at http://www.rycunmusic.com/images/tempofinale.tif
Hope that works for you!

Ryan

Thanks, Ryan.
I don't know why my advanced tool for tempo (a metronome as icon)does not work.
I did as you suggest in your tiff link, it works, but i can not change tempo in other measures.
As a curiosity, please see my file "learning bossanova". I'm discovering amazing resorts in Finale.

Ryan -- 04/21/2005, 17:32:01 -- #13085
Ok, try this..(for Albetan)
Ok, I see what you mean now.  After some fiddling around, I think I've got it.  You probably know this already, but the way I got it to work was to turn on the tempo tool and click the measure to change.  It didn't make a difference though until I went into playback settings (click the speaker) and I turned OFF human playback and set it to none.  That made it follow the tempo changes...see if that works for you!  Great files BTW!

This room is officially defunct
Hey everyone,

I will no longer be checking in this room.  I'm going to ask Scot to delete it.  Please get in touch with me in my new room...The Writer's Resource (Ryan's Region).  The files section works and I've just updated it.

HI Will here is your answer...

Hola Ruben... Si has llegado aqui creo que vas bien...

Saludos

About "Closing Time" score
Could you updload a pdf of the score ? I don't have Finale software (and I'm not sure a compatible one exists for the free operating system I'm using).
