| Hey! Why I can't upload files to this room? | |
| I've spent the last couple of days re-listening to all the midi files in the Old Site Midi Files room and picked out (what I consider to be) the very best of them. This should spare many of you the tedious chore of separating the wheat from the chaff. My choices are purely subjective (of course), but here are the criteria I worked by: 1. Not being a huge fan of ballads, you'll find most of these numbers are more or less up tempo. 2. There had to be a cool solo in the piece. There were some great harmonizations of heads that I didn't include because there was no solo (notably numbers by JB - who is not me BTW). 3. They had to be what I consider IMHO to be "real" Jazz. So once Scot has made it so that I can upload files to this room, you'll have some incredible music to listen to all created by members of this site. People like Scot Ranney (of course), Sid Thomas, Nor Eddine BAHHA, Ryan Cullen, Jono Butterfield, and Bernard Chinn ... Later, I'll begin re-listening to the midi files that are found all over this "new" site here and begin including them too. You'll get masterpieces by Doug McKenzie, Barry Dallman, and many other greats who are kind enough to share their art with us here on this site. One thing you won't get though is any midi files by me. If you want to hear my faves of myself, drop by 7's Heaven any old time. | |

| OK, the files that I cherry-picked from the Old Site Midi Files room are all loaded in now, so you can begin enjoying and getting to know the work of some the great pianists here at LJP. One thing I noticed as I went through the Old Site Midi Files was that many of these pieces had barely been listened to. There were some truly great numbers that had only had like 20 downloads to date - which is a real shame when someone goes to all the trouble to record and upload their hard work and labor of love and then nobody even bothers to listen to it. Hopefully this little room will help to get these amazing renditions more "air play". I've found my fellow colleagues' midi Jazz piano uploads to be a great source of inspiration (I hope you will too), and if you're in business of stealing tricks (which is why we're all here, right?), then watch these babies fly by on the (FREE) VanBasco midi player's virtual piano keyboard. Availble at http://www.VanBasco.com (did I mention that it's FREE!!?) | |

| Great idea for a room 7. I haven't had my keys hooked up for a while and I hate listening to midis with crap sound so it's only today that I've downloaded a few files. There were definitely some files that shouldn't go forgotten from the old site. I look forward to checking them out... | |

| New Files | |
| As you can see, I've uploaded another bunch of "cream of the crop" midi Jazz piano files. What fantastic pianists frequent this site! Hopefully these piano performances will give you hours of enjoyment, inspiration and a source of great tricks to steal. | Carolina Shout/Fats Waller | |
| I know this has already been asked but I am looking for the Fats Waller version of Carolina Shout. Sheet music preferably but the midi files would help. I lost the copy I had during my move and cannot seem to find this version anywhere. Would appreciate any assistance from anyone. | |

| I deleted the bluesology upload, it doesn't belong in this room. If you'd like to have it on the site, please put it in the jazz instrumental room. Thanks! | |
