LearnJazzPiano.com archives: National Book Tokens Grrrrrrrrrrr
Kai -- 01/04/2005, 14:34:44 -- #10112
My daughter gave me £30 worth of UK National Book Tokens for Christmas specifically so that I could buy a Jamey Aebersold Play along. I can't redeem them against this type of book in places where they sell the book (like John Myatt, Jazzwise, Amazon etc) and when I find a store that will accept book tokens, they can't get the Aebersold Play along for me (like Borders, Watersones, WHSmith etc).  Grrrr.

Forget the playalong and use the tokens to buy some decent literature - it will make you a better musician in the long run.

Or, sell the tokens for cash and buy what you want.

Thanks for the advice, Sid.  I feel that you may be right about the play a long.  I have ordered it but will let you know what I think of it later. On the 'improvement' side this New Year (and following good advice from this site), I'm also taking 3 months of lessons on technique with a very good music teacher. I'll also report back in due course.  CynBad, I'm doing just that.  Thanks again.  Kai
