| Charlie Parker died 50 years ago today at the young age of 34. Yet Bird lives on through his incredible recordings. Orrin Keepnews said "There are basically two types of jazz: before and after Charlie Parker." Bird's impact on the art of Jazz is incalculable. It is difficult to imagine how one single person can have such an impact on the entire world of music. It is equally as difficult to imagine what Jazz today would have beeen like without Charlie Parker. I'm not sure, but are all of Bird's works now public domain? | |
