dear all,

does anyone know where I can purchase a transcription of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t you worry about a thing” (the inner visions album version)?

cheers, H

You will learn more if you transcribe it yourself!

Thanks. It'd be nice to have a little bump-start tho...H

There is sheet music to it.  I learned it once.  Use the sheet music as your "bump start"  that was more than adequate for me.

Try googling that song along with "sheet music" and see if you can buy it online somewhere!
Even so, it might still be faster to transcribe it yourself.
You know, musicians used to make money transcribing things for people, but that seems to have gone by the wayside, with all the software available now.

The name of the song correctly spelled is

Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing

Copy the above title into the search box in the upper left of this page next to where it says "Search for books, cds, music:"

This will bring you to a search results page.

Under the MusicNotes heading, fourth from the top click on "The Stevie Wonder Anthology".

Buy it!

The song you're looking for is in there.

Why take this route to buy the book?

Because a small portion of the proceeds go to help support this site.

Many thanks to alesis - your red nose and stupid wig made me laugh.

Harvey,

It's always worth a search on Google for midi files as you can download these into a sequencer or midi file player and see each track displayed as notation - you can see bass lines, melody, horn parts etc.

I've found a version of Don't you worry, but it's the Incognito one rather than Stevie's. You can download this from Incognito's website at: http://incognito.org.uk/

Another good site has some great funk arrangements eg Tower of Power etc as midi files - can't remember the site but do a google search for "funk midi files" and it's the first site I think.

Cheers
Dave

... what r transcriptions?  :), sry for asking these stp questions but....

7 -- 06/03/2005, 23:04:28 -- #14508
The word "script" is related to the latin root which also gives us the words "scribe", "scripture".

In Italian it is "scrivere", in Spanish "escribir".

It simply means "to write".

The suffix "trans" is related to the word "transfer".

The term therefore indicates that you transfer to paper, ie "to write s.t. down".

In the world of music, it technically means to listen to a phrase or composition and write it down on paper.

However many musicians simply commit the music to memory after having listened to it very carefully and dispense with the actual writing part of it.

The term "trans-scribe" refers to a writer that has had a sex change.

..... huh?

ill skip that, so, then its just listening the music and play it in ur piano, then write it in paper... i was expecting something more... complex... ah well, thnx for ur time and sry to bother with this stp questions
