LearnJazzPiano.com archives: Rythym Changes: A Practical Exercise in Jazz Playing

Hey folks, I'm really anxious for suggestions from fellow members that focus on what YOU incorporate for LH bass lines, Comping Techniques, RH Solo/Improv Ideas for the playing exercise!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I realize that a great deal is written about the changes, but I just know there must be new & exciting ideas still to be shared. As I stated, it would be a real boost in personal morale to be able to play the exercise solo or w/other musicians & play w/a sense of genuine confidence as a result of your generous input & willingness to further enlighten beginners!  BTW, the copy I have is in Bflat.  Ok, To start the thread, what bass lines do you enjoy using, or do you even incorporate a bass line?  I really look forward to this thread.  Heck, the main reason I learned Take The A Train was I finally recognized where the standard intro lick was coming from--I loved it everytime I heard it, & I FINALLY pleaded/begged until somebody showed me! It's a blast to play!
