Argh! I posted something about tunes with "Spring" in the title, or that are about spring, but it never came up. Im doing a gig with a vocalist on the first official day of spring, I was just wondering if anyone knew any good tunes to  play that would be suitable!

My list so far:

You Must Believe in Spring
Spring is here
Joy Spring
Spring can really hang you up the most
Up jumped Spring
I love Paris (in the springtime)

Anyone got anymore?

Cheers!

Couldn't think of any other good Spring tunes apart from "Springtime for Hitler" :-)

You could include Groovin High, on the grounds that it's based on the changes of WhiSPeRING.

Another possibility is to locate a copy of the classic Tony Williams album of this title(Blue Note, early 60's)and listen to Herbie,Wayne, and Sam Rivers...a great session.......don't remember if there's a comp by that title on it as well..hang on...........

How about the Rite of Spring (Stravinsky).
Not an easy one to play at a cocktail...

Rick, here's a serious one for a change:  Spring will be a little late this year (Frank Loesser).

Just thought of a couple more:

Younger than Springtime.
Not completly sure of the title but summat like "Spring is bursting out all over".

Very tentatively the first day of spring is on the spring equinox so you could play Equinox.

Are you sure that isn't "June Is Busting Out All Over"?  Who's June anyway?

johnq -- 03/11/2004, 06:38:24 -- #2332
Oh yeah you're right.
Well if Rick gets another gig a bit later in the year he can use it then.
Yeah who's June?
