Hello.
I play the standart On Broadway according to the version of G Benson in the tonality of G:
G, F / G, F / G, F / G, F /
G, F / G, F / G, F / G, F /
C, Bb / C, Bb / C, Bb / C, D7 /
G, F / G, F / G, F / G, F /
For the improvisation I play the scale minor blues in G along the improvisation, and I have left very poor. I would thank ideas about the possibilities of scales and voicings to mount this standart in a beautiful, varied and creative way.
Thank you.
Jaume.

Why not pick out ideas from transcribing Benson's solo?

I've played this song a million times with different bands, and it simply screams mixolydian.

During the G F section you're in G mixolydian, in the C Bb section you're in C mixolydian.

There are of course a lot of other things you can do on top of those changes, but the most obvious is the mixolydian.

I also would use the mixos in both those situations, that's a pretty easy approach to it.  However, in the G F section, it would probably be best to think of the B as an avoid note, because playing a B on the F chord puts it in Lydian, which probably isn't the type of feel you're looking for in that song.  The safest way to use the B on the F chord is to resolve it chromatically, which should keep in tact the tonality you're looking for.

On a side note, I find it SO weird that every time I find a new song and play it, like the next day, somebody mentions it on this site.  This is like the 3rd time that's happened!

DoubleZ, the same note happens to me frequently.
I had a gig last saturday at a guy's birthday. The guy is a big fan of Benson, so we prepared plenty of Benson's tunes. This one included.

Haha, there must be some telepathic link between pianists all over the place.  I had a 5-hour solo gig yesterday, so I was basically playing every song I could think of, this included.
