Wow. I guess that stroke really has affected him. He is playing slow, romantic style music and doesn't seem to have much technical facility anymore. Interesting, and kind of sad... People are still paying big buck to attend these club performances. I think it was $50 or $60, and that doesn't include drinks or dinner.

I got to think it's more in what they guy choose to record.  I saw him a couple of years ago (after the stroke but NOP was still with us) and he was burnin.

Well, that's good to hear, sdm.  That video sure doesn't sound like he's doing too well.  It's a pretty tune, though.

did he ever play a fast tune during this concert?

i was at that show, the friday sept. 1st one, and he was smokin'. he played Satin Doll and Sweet Georgia Brown, among others. he did play slower songs, though, including Love Ballade and When Summer Comes. All in all, it was an incredible show and a memorable experience. he was in wonderful form and was playing great for his age and his health. oh, and the tickets were $95 each, not counting dinner. i dropped an additional $130 on dinner with wine. ouch.

Holy cow!  That's why I don't go!  I'd have to pay for the ferry too! I'm glad to hear he played more than what that guy recorded!
