| Guys I got my Bubble and Bouncing mixed up. In my earlier message I suggested that Bouncing With Bud sounded like Rhythm changes. What I meant to say was Bud's Bubble sounded like Rhythm changes. I have checked out Song Trelis and they have a chart for Bubble and YES it is rhythm changes with only a slight variation!! That said, Bouncing looks like a futher evolution of Bubble. Bud is THE man! Bro' | |

| Bud's Bubble also sometimes goes by the title Crazeology. Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Little Benny Harris have all been credited with composing it at one time or another. Both tunes are in Real Book 2 and differ in that Crazeology has a written bridge while Bud's Bubble has an improvised middle 8. Measures 5 and 6 of the A section deviate from Rhythm changes (modulate from Bb to Gb), which makes it quite interesting if you're tired of straight Rhythm changes numbers. And yes, Bud was indeed The Man (until they fried his brain). sid | |
