| Hey gang. This in no way indicates my disatisfaction with this place, which is the definitive jazz piano forum on the net. But I do like to frequent other forums to get info on new music/listening in other genres. I got hooked on Keyboard Magazine's forums for a while (turns out Jazz+ used to spend some time there), but I've gone through a lot of posts and think I'm starting to reach a plateu in terms of what they have to offer. Are there any other good piano/keyboard Rock/Blues/Jam/Prog type forums out there? That are comparable to here or Keyboard Mag? I've gone through a lot of posts on PianoStreet. Some of it is cool, but some of the people there are pretentious, dogmatic, a$$holes (only for this forum do I edit :) ). | |

| maybe u are expecting too much from the forum experience? You know when I divide up my practice time I allow myself so much time for technique drills, so much time for Harmony... Chord voicings etc... So much time for my teaching business... So much time for ensemble work preparation etc etc and so much time for internet work... developing web pages participating in forums etc. I think like others here I sometimes kick myself because I find myself spending too much time in the forum and too much time on the internet in general... it is so sexy and addictive. If you are really spending the time you should be spending on the Well Tempered Clavier you aint got time for worring about other forums man. Sorry I dont mean to be cutting on you here... I am more cutting on myself because I have been meandering to internet oblivion as well. | |

| I hear ya. I don't watch television hardly at all, it's like the internet is my television. Probably causes less brain cells to atrophy, I guess. | |

| There's a 'non-classical' forum on Pianoworld, and also a jazz forum on Pianofacts forum, (http://www.armleg.com/forum/index.php?mforum=pianosinc&sid=a1367eee152dfd6ab4556f9928a86d0b). Pianostreet is for classical and has a lot of immature visitors. Nuff said. As for TV, the UK is having a rare but wonderful two weeks of piano on BBC4 http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/classicaltv/piano2006.shtml The programme featuring Oscar P live in '74 shown last Friday was terrific. Caught another two on jazz, and will be watching the Leeds Piano Competition over the next few evenings. Andy | |

| www.jazzreview.com covers recordings pretty well. It is not a site for piano specific technique however. | |
