LearnJazzPiano.com archives: Modal Jazz Webpage
dolphin74 -- 10/21/2006, 08:29:58 -- #30586
I have created a website dedicated to modal jazz - www.modaljazz.com.
It's goal is to entertain, inform and turn young people onto jazz. After all, Kind of Blue is often the starting point for most people.

If you have any comments or suggestions to improve the site please let me know. It has some nice vids on it. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks,

Dolphin

I would suggest adding a link to your webpage here:

dolphin74,

Thanks for putting together a great website.  It looks like something that will help me and others a lot.  I will give you some feedback and questions as I get into it.
Thanks again. - Ken

dolphin74,

I am impressed. You certainly have put a lot of time into that site!

You should seriously consider putting "Jazzology: The Encyclopedia of JAZZ THEORY for All Musicians" on your links page under the heading Theory. It is destined to become the standard reference work for Jazz Theory for the 21st century.

Here is the link:

As I mentioned in email, a site that is purely links, well... I'd like to see some original material on the site, your personal ideas about modal jazz that interested musicians can read and get something out of.

Nice job Dolphin.

I should also mention that the site is very nicely done!

Broke my own rule here, no criticism without something positive :)

Guys, thanks for all your positive feedback and taking the time out to visit the site! Scott, calling my site purely links is a bit harsh - I wrote all the audio modal tracks reviews, timeline, whats is modal jazz, learn to play, etc. myself. The site is in its infancy and will grow over time with more original material as the site evolves.
