| Hi, as I just starting learning the jazz piano and music theory in general I wonder what are your results in the Interval Ear Trainer? to be found on www.musictheory.net I had 100 tries with upward direction and scored 39% | |

| Just for grins, I tried it and got 96%. I thought one of the "correct answers" was wrong, though. | |

| I've been using Pitch Invasion on my lunch hours for the last month. It comes with Band In A Box. It's kind of fun - objects enter the screen like the old Space Invaders game and you have to hit the right note (mouse, computer keys or, I presume, midi keyboard). I've definitely gotten a lot better and it may (!) have helped a bit with some transcribing I’m doing. I don’t know if it really works or I’m just getting better at a video game. | |

| I had to try this also - I'm on a mandatory conference call and 'locked' in my office for an hour (My phone is muted). I got 93 of 100. I seemed to mistake some minor 3rds for major. I think my head is thinking 3 and 5 of major tonality. Also, when the sounds were in high registers, I seemed to get my tritones and minor 6ths mixed up. I'm not sure what that's about. | |

| OK -- I'll have to do this more. I suck! | |

| I forgot to mention that I find it incredible encouraging to read sdm's (Scott's) weblog here. I believe we are on the same road and you are lightyears ahead of me. Please keep writing the log :) | |

| Thanks YM. That the reaction I'd hoped for from readers. It's a great journey! I still suck a the intervals! | |
