Hello Group,

I live in southwest FL. and play piano for a living. The home my wife and I bought here 20 years ago has gone up at least 800 percent, but the style of living has also changed. I could buy a home in Charlotte for 150.000 that you would pay 850.000 for here and I am talking in terms of 1500 sq feet. I love southwest FL. but I also have always liked more mid northern mountain states. Sorry to make this so lenghty but I am very interested to hear from any of you musicians  who live in this area what the scene is like not only for music but for quality of living !!!

Playing   ( Parties Hotels Weddings  Church's ect.

                Thanks

                          Paul

I don't live in Charlotte, but I've commuted there many times.

Hey Pjp, the quality of living in Charlotte is pretty high, it's a relatively clean city with a growing music scene. As more and more people are moving to Charlotte, so is the culture. Charlotte has an ongoing jazz concert series, with a name I can't remember.

There's plenty to do just like any other big city. However, since Charlotte is growing so fast, the traffic can be a problem so you'll have to leave pretty early to get where you are trying to go, ecspecially if where your'e going is downtown.

There is a bad side to Charlotte, but that's anywhere, so at night make sure you are cautious, lock your doors. There are a small number of bad types.

Charlotte is like somebody took a piece of New York and dropped right in the middle of nowhere. So you can always reach a mountain drive, park. If you have alot of money, Lake Norman which is about 10-20 minutes away from city limits has lots marina, boat club membership.

The nightlife is good here too, plenty of clubs, pubs, fine restaurants, and the such.

So I imagine with all that the work there would be abundant, but then again I don't live in Charlotte, or work there often so I don't know. The living is good though.
