Ok, most of you know my political position.  I think George and his cronies are about as close to being pure evil as it gets and the world will be a much better place when they are all dead and buried.

However, regardless if you agree with my position or not, it's important for everyone who can vote to make sure they do in the mid-term elections.

Just do it!

If everyone doesn't vote, then this thing isn't even close to a democracy.  If everyone took some time to understand the issues and then votes for their position on these issues, and candidates, then we see democracy in action.

Yes, I know voting machines can be rigged and this and that and this and that, but that doesn't excuse you from your responsibilities as US citizens to vote when given the opportunity.

Did you know that voting is more important than paying your taxes?

"If everyone took some time to understand the issues and then votes for their position on these issues, and candidates, then we see democracy in action."

Amen!!

But if you don't take the time to get educated, and only go by what you see and hear on TV adds, please don't vote.

In my case I'm so discouraged by the childish mud-slinging campaigning, it appears none of the candidates are worthy of my vote - but I have forced myself to research the issues and candidates in hopes of preserving this very precious right we have in this country!  I'm afraid if we don't use it we may lose it...

and please... look up "fascism" before you vote

Hi, just a short comment. A major "intelectual" newspaper in Germany opened this week with this headline "America's chance to become good again!"

Also I'd like to share a totally politically incorrect joke which works vice versa:
How do you call intelligent people in the USA?

Tourists !!!
----- The joke came up after your latest elections with that Florida "crisis".

Fortunately, there are much much more than tourists, and when I see this soldier-woman at french TV news yesterday (Tammy DUCKWORTH) having lost her legs in Irak after crash helico, I tell to myself the stupid thing about war (war in general) has no borderlines ... For sure a big test for W. these mid-term elections ...

The tourists have spoken!!

YourMove -- 11/08/2006, 22:30:02 -- #30935
Well done and well spoken!
Hillary would be my first choice for president, though my opinion doesn't count at all...
Is there hope that she doesn't get a male intern? <sorry, couldn't resist>....

Is it going to be what we call here in France "the cohabitation" ? meaning 2 sides sharing the government, what we are used to since 25 years now, with one government not confirmed 2 years later (presidential / and then legislative elections) What a mess then ! difficult then to keep coherent long term  objectives !
A bit as if you were alternating your jazz prof every week !!
This kind of things can eventually only work with polygamy :)))
