| At the moment, I am really trying to make my playing from lead sheets as professional as possible, and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of ways to voice the harmony/melody and solo over the chords etc. My problem is that I dont really have any riffs licks that fit a particular chord progression that I can fall back on if I get into trouble or something. For example, I dont know any famous riffs that fit a ii-V progression even, and I know if I could find a few interesting ones it could really spice up my playing. Does anyone know any? Or any good resources for them? N.B. I obviously know some general riffs/licks that can fit wherever you tranpose them, but none that fit specific progressions. Thanks Again | |

| Try "Elements of the Jazz Language for the Developing Improvisor," by Jerry Coker. It'll fit the bill nicely. -Ben Blau | |
