| who do you think would make the greatest jazz group of all time? out of all the jazz musicians ever? | |

| Joni Mitchell's "Shadows and Light" recording already has one of my dream groups- Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius, Lyle Mays, Pat Methene, Peter Erskine, Don Alias, and of course Joni Mitchell. If I could put together a group... Monty Alexander, Pete Christlieb, Clark Terry, Jeff Hamilton, and Christian McBride. That would be pretty swinging. | |

| Akain Caron (bass), Michel Cusson (guitar), Paul Brochu (drums). And miscellaneous keyboardist...(Michel Cyr, Stepan Montanaro...etc.) They are called UZEB... http://www.alaincaron.com/eng/uzeb.htm That's my Dream Team! | |

| I think Joshua Redman's "Moodswing" actually has my ultimate jazz group in terms of current musicians: Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride, Brian Blade Best all time: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Ron Carter, Tony Williams. Minus Coltrane, this could have happened. | |
| Styles -- 12/02/2006, 09:59:08 -- #31517 | |
| A dream group right now... Josh Redman, Roy Hargrove, Hiromi Uehara, Victor Wooten, Brian Blade | |

| Hey - don't flatter yourself - it's just alphabetical :) (and pick your own dream group :) | |
| DoubleZ -- 12/02/2006, 13:11:25 -- #31517 | |
| Hmmm. Oscar Peterson, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Pat Metheny, Bird, Chick Corea (On some sort of synth), and Miles Davis. That'd be a totally sick combo. | |
| nihonjin -- 12/03/2006, 11:49:48 -- #31517 | |
| Dolly Parton, Richard Clayderman, Lars Ulrich. | |
| wdennissorrell -- 12/03/2006, 14:49:00 -- #31517 | |
| As I enter fearlessly into this fray, I suggest (tongue firmly in cheek): Yanni, Kenny G., Richard Marx, Ringo Starr, unfortunately I have no bassist to list, sorry about that. Peace out! | |
| Whacky -- 12/03/2006, 15:41:26 -- #31517 | |
| How about Felix Pappalardi? :) | |
| teej1169 -- 12/03/2006, 16:37:36 -- #31517 | |
| not funny! :-p | |
| 7 -- 12/03/2006, 23:44:04 -- #31517 | |
| Willie Nelson, Diana Krall and Elvis Costello. Oh, wait. It's already been done and it was a total disaster. What a crazy idea! | |
| Hush -- 12/09/2006, 08:17:18 -- #31517 | |
| Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Brian Blade and Wayne Shorter. Of course, Wayne Shorter acutal Quartet. | |
| Mike -- 12/09/2006, 10:47:38 -- #31517 | |
| Michelle Pheiffer, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Lopez. I have always prefered trios. | |
| GS_Jon -- 12/10/2006, 12:13:46 -- #31517 | |
| Dave Holland Quintet, even though they don't have a piano. | |
| Barry -- 12/10/2006, 17:12:58 -- #31517 | |
| Michel Petrucciani, Joe Henderson, Peter Erskine, Dave Holland would could probably struggle through a tune or two. | |
| Mike -- 12/11/2006, 00:21:53 -- #31517 | |
| yah, Elizabeth Hurly, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer even though they do not have a musician in the group. | |
