| So I moved into an apartment and have want to buy a digital piano. Does anyone have experience with any? I'm trying to keep it under $2000. I have 10 years classical experience and want to start digging into jazz (I've played drums for 6 years in combos and jazz bands). Anyone opinions on models? I see lots of good reviews about the YAMAHA YDP223. | |

| I have a yamaha p-250, and I'm beginning to agree with the general consensus that the keys feel heavy. I like it, but it's a notch heavier than many real pianos. The sound works for me. I'd say go for the roland rd-700sx. It's compact, has great touch, and the piano sound is technologically the best as of now. Only down is that it doesn't have speakers built in. It wouldn't matter to me, but it may be a problem if you don't have a good speaker setup. But other than that, I think rd-700sx is the best out there. | |
