| So I bought a usb motu midi interface 8 in 8 out from Sweetwater. I hook it up. It will not recieve midi messages from my Studio Logic Sl 880 controler. All my other midi modules recieve midi just fine from the same Studio logic Sl 880 using the same midi cable. I talk to the Sweetwater Techs about it; The problem makes no sence. It is illogical. They refer me to Motu. I talk to the Motu Techs: The problem is illogical it makes no sence... they ask me to talk to Studio Logic and see if there could possibly be anything unique about Studio logics Midi even though it is standard. I talk to Studio logic Tech. The problem makes no sence to them. It defies all Midi logic. The problem is in fact impossable. Any thoughts from the forums technical people??? | |

| It doesn't make any sense to me either, Mike. There's no reason a StudioLogic controller can't or won't transmit MIDI signals -- that's it's whole raison d'etre, you know? You've done this: (a) checked and verified the cable (b) checked that the MIDI is transmitted on the same channel received on your computer (c) verified that the Studio Logic works fine with other MIDI gear (modules, &c.) (d) Downloaded the latest drivers from MOTU, installed them, &c. (e) double-checked that everything else works fine with the MOTU interface. Shit. If all of the above are done in checklist-fashion, I can't see what the problem is. I'd like to know, though, if you do figure it out at some point. | |

| Can you try a different midi controller? It seems to me that that is about the only thing left to check. If a different midi controller works through the interface then the problem is specific to either the interface and/or your current controller. Sorry I can not offer more help. Peace out. | |

| The motu recieves midi just fine from my Dx7 and from my Sampler. The studio logic sends midi just fine to all my modules just fine as I said. It is a brand new motu and I have not even got to the point of hooking it up to a computer yet. Drivers are not an issue. | |
