Since nobody else answered your question, I will.
I thought the same thing when I first heard him on "Bop-Be".
I thought he actually was using a kazoo in some places. Maybe he was.

What a bunch of snobs!  I think there is as much room for a jazz kazooist as there is any other instrument - and if he can play piano and kazoo at the same time, my hat's off to him!
