| Sitting here listening to Diana Krall on Piano Jazz. Very cool but I heard her say how she has songs rolling around in her head for years before she tries to play or sing it. When you've listened as long as I have this is, I imagine, unavoidable but she put it in a way I hadn't thought of it while I immediately related to it. She went further and said she didn’t know if she’d ever tackle Lush Life just because it’s so huge as a song. I couldn’t believe it! Such “normal” thoughts from such an artist and player (she couldn’t play piano on this show because of carpal tunnel – bummer). She is very self-depreciating and humble. So refreshing. ps: she's with twins! Hope we don't loss her to motherhood. You can have it all, Diana! | |

| Ah, I see from here web site the twin boys, Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James, were born Dec 6th. Congratulations to the family! | |

| I have the utmost admiration for Diana Krall, despite the fact she's a singer. LOL She's one hell of a pianist as well. I had no idea she was expecting! Hope she still has time for music with twin boys running her around! | |

| Diana KRALL came last summer here in Antibes-Juans Jazz Festival, and I was disappointed, not musically, she's one hell of a pianist, as you mention, but almost not ONE word to the audience this night ! It gave such a cold atmosphere that she didn't even get called again and everyone seemed to be happy with that !! I should add that this audience is generally "easy" and particularly "hot", so no excuse, Mrs KRALL !! I get such another opinion (just pianist, not singer, and quite different anyway) with HIROMI, we drove to Milan last Tuesday just for this Show at the Blue Note : great evening, she's very talented, accessible, funny, could take photos and chat a bit with her ... very cool night .. don't regret the 2 hours and a half to get there ! (my wife neither, not that she loves Hiromi's playing, but she loved the beer at the Blue note, and found very cute Hiromi's drummer (Valihora) :))) | |

| Hmm, sorry you had that experience. I have seen her a couple of times and each time she was very friendly with the audience. You might try to catch her DVD in Paris -- she was very talkative there. Everyone can have an off night. I saw Ray Charles just once, here in Portland in either the late 70s or early 80s. He played a very uninspired 45 minute set and walked off. That was it. No talking with us, no encore. Very disappointing. I still love his music! | |

| So when she came in July, she was just at the beginning of her pregnancy, so it might explain she was a bit "somewhere else". Mea Culpa, then, and long life to the kids ... and her talent, of course.. | |

| I just recently got Diana Krall's DVD Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival. I think it is a few years old, but I must say, watching her play was what made be really | |

| She has a lot of Nat Cole's influence, but watch her videos sometime. The way she develops her solos is so instructional. Plus she recorded a great Christmas album! | |
