| I was wondering what everyone is working on when they pratice, perheps I can get some tips. I'm on holiday now so I have a week of quality time with my parents steinway. I myself am working on: * bach inventions, trying to get a little classical into my system since I'm allmost completely self tought with no classical background. * transcribing. I've transcribed just a couple of herbie hancock-phrases and couple of mccoy tyner phrases to learn in all keys and analyse. * transposing a couple of two-hand-voicings. Since I'm in a period with just school and no gigs I can dig really deep in small things without having to learn a lot of songs. So what are you working on? | |

| I am practising bach invention Nr.13 since several days and I am getting pretty good in improvising 2 voices on this theme. It's real fun. | |

| I mean, feeling free on playing the stuff, improvised or in original version. The mind has to be free in this moment and you have to be willing to accept also wrong notes! uups. Yes! Wrong notes could happen, bur shouldn't interupt your musical flow. | |

| Composing/transcribing my own solo choruses over some of my favorite tunes. Helps me figure out the sounds that are kicking around my head, not to mention honing my own voice. Plus, it's nice to have something or some themes/licks to fall back on in a pinch if you play a song a lot. | |
