| hi! once again i need some feedback from the real world. listen to the mp3 and tell me what i should on work on... also let me know what you think about the band and how the music feels. I want to compare my own feelings of this band with what you more experienced people think...This day my hands felt stiff and the feeling in the band was awful. Please comment on this...btw, do i play too much? | realy stunnning !! everything...the hole band BUT i dont like the part of your phrasing when you sound like a hornplayer. I cant discribe how this part sounds but it is like a trill. This device can be heavily overused ! But your solo is very nice !! VERY nice !! (except the trill thing :D ). Next time turn the gittareplayer louder. I could hardly hear him. | |

| In my opinion: 1st chorus: Left hand stabs too loud and left hand stabs sound rhythmicly too pushy (rushed). During piano solo: Left hand too loud in the first section, therefore the left hand sounds too intrusive. Left hand to pushy again. eft hand mellows out later in solo and sounds appropriate. Trumpet solo: Comping sounds jarring at the beginnin (too pushy), again it gets better as the chorus goes along. It's as if whenever you first enter a new section (chorus) you are too excited and push your stabs with too much enthusiasm. Comping is over all better on the sax solo, less pushy. In summary, lay back your comping more. Half the comping sounds right on, the other half sounds too pushy, in my opinion. Nice solo in the right hand, no complaints there. | |

| The Bill Evans version of Autumn Leaves on Portrait in Jazz is exciting and educational because you can apply this swing feel to the same chords and notes that you have already learned and come up with something that sounds quite different. I play Autumn Leaves slow to start with and then add some swing. It is so satisfying to play! I would like to know about minor scales to play over the minor ii-V-i (I am ready for this!) Bro | |
