| a friend recently bought a mac book pro. I have always been afraid to try a mac because I learned computers on a PC and have used them exclusevely for so many years. But my friend made the plunge and is doing everything so much easier and... I am so impressed with this program called "Garage Band" that comes on it standard. Does anyone here have this and have anything to say about it? | |

| Yes its the best thing to use, I use it all the time to make backing tracks and other things its brilliant id recomend getting a mac even with out garage band cos macs are great, i know that because im typing on one now. Once you have a mac you won't want to touch a crappy PC with a barge pole. GET ONE!!!! | |

| I can't really compare the platforms because I've never used a PC. However, a musician friend just switched to a Mac and says that everything just works better than his PC. He says that Cakewalk is out, Garageband rules. | |

| For many years I've used the Mac for music. About 5 years ago I started using a PC. But then came along GarageBand. So I bought a miniMac to get back to the Mac. Garageband takes midi up a step by using sound samples eliminating the need to purchase a syth. when you are satisfied with your performance you can export directly to an audio aiff file. There are hundreds of free instrument samples on the internet. Also you are able to tweek any piano sample to your preference in garageband. One of the nice features is it works seamlessly with Logic Audio. | |
