| Can someone explain the jazz way of counting rhythm, for example Dee = quarter note Bah = eighth note etc? I learned the traditional way of 1 2 3&4 but was interested in this other method. | |

| every jazz player I have ever played with or heard in concert counts the numbers one two three and four just like every one else. Maybe you are talking about scat? | |

| Jazz players count a lot of medium and fast tempos in cut time. Become very comfortable with that subdivison. | |
