| Hello, I'm looking for a little drum machine. Something I can plug in to my amp and that will do just a little more than a metronome. I don't really want to spend a whole lot, but at the same time, if I'm going to listen to a repetive beats while doing scales, I'd rather listen to nicely sampled drums. Also, obviously, with good jazz presets. One thing I found (but have not tried yet) is Alesis SR16. The other thing is 'Band in a box'. I saw yourMove use it in his video and I thought it was cool, but I'd rather not have a pc on next to me... Thanks! | |

| Hi Knotty, just in case you have questions about Band in a Box, don't hesitate to ask :) Interesting thread btw I was lucky to have found a spare computer on the attic.... (sorry probably terrible grammar...) | |

| Hey Jan, Thanks, I kinda gave up on BiaB for now. I can't have a pc in my living room just like that. I tried on a laptop and the thing told me I was lacking memory. The poor tool couldn't even keep good timing, which obviously defeated the purpose. Plus having to boot up a pc everytime I need a metronome was too tedious. Then I wasn't too sure about the drum boxes either, I dropped by guitar center to try one but they only had one model and they couldn't even plug it in. Kinda useless. So I ended up putting a digital keyboard on top of the piano, my wife's ok with that, it's got most of the features I'd need from BiaB, and it actually keeps time. So I guess I'm good for now. Thanks for the reply ;) | |

| Not so long ago I picked up a second-hand ZOOM RT-123, which probably does what you want. It cost me a few tens of dollars. A quick look on e-Bay shows there are several out there. sid | |
