| Anyone interested, I've started a new myspace site. These are some of the songs that are on my demo CD I've been working on. I made these recordings plugging my new XV-5050 with the SRX-11 expansion card directly into a Sony mini-disc recorder. Somehow, in the process of recording the tracks, converting them to WAV files, then converting them to Mp3s, then uploading them to myspace, where they're converted to a format for streaming over the internet, somewhere along the way the attack on almost every note played comes out sounding funny, kind of "airy". Otherwise I'm pretty OK with the quality of the recordings. Check it out, have a listen, comments welcome. Plz don't be too critical, this is only my 1st recording project! Just kidding (kind of). | Doesn't sound like a first recording project. A nice rendition of 'Night In Tunisia'. Really swings on the bridge. Gets kinda curly near the end. | |

| I dunno, I guess I'd rather people focused on the audio, instead of visual. I don't own a webcam besides. jmkarns, not exactly sure what to make of "curly", I think I know what you mean, but I'm not quite sure. Nice way of saying "sloppy"? It's cool, I can take it. Actually I've updated the page already to put some other stuff on there, Night in Tunisia isn't there anymore. | |

| Hi again LJP. So I've been doing some more work on the myspace page. Sorry if it seems like I'm spamming this forum with my stuff. I really would like some feedback on the page. Check it out, I added a bio and changed the layout, I think now I just need to upload some pictures of me actually playing the piano. Even if you don't have any comments about the music, I'd like to know what you think about the look and feel of the page. Does it look professional? Should I maybe just get my own website instead of doing myspace? I kind of like the way people can listen to the tunes on the player while they read the bio. I'm not exactly sure how easy it is for people to contact me through myspace, I put my e-mail at the very end of the bio, I'm worried it will get picked up by spambots. Is the bio ridiculously too long? Make sure you got a couple minutes before you check it out. I want it to be professional, but I also want it to be real, I want it to be about me. I could probably shorten the bio. Does the order of the songs make sense? I think my strongest playing is on Dolphin Dance, but This I Dig is more ear catching, with the full quartet, other opinions welcome. The link is the same as above. Thanks, J | |

| Just checked it out - a couple of things... - bio is way too long! There doesn't have to be one particular was to do it but get an idea by looking at other people's myspace areas. You could put all this info on a relevant page if you had a website, but I would keep a lot of this seperate from a biog that is going to be viewed by potential corporate clients (if that's who you intend to view your space). - RE the email - write it like "pringe AT myemail DOT com", spam bots dont pick up on that (AFAIK). hope that helps. | |

| It is no problem to program a Spam bot to get "pringe AT myemail DOT com". Way better is to simply put a .jpg with your email address online. There is always hassle for the one who likes to write the email, either to correct the given e-mail or to write it by themselves from a pic.... Just my two cents. | |
