| I'm excited- Jazz Alley in Seattle is having the Monty ALexander trio with John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton, the monster trio from Montreaux all those years ago. I'm going tonight, making the big drive down south. I'll let you know how it goes, however I can't imagine it being anything other than experiencing one of the best swing machines out there. | |

| Well worth the long drive, I'm sure. I'll never forget Jazz Alley because I just happened to catch Clark Terry there once when I was stuck in Seattle overnight. Looking forward to hearing about Monty A. | |

| I envy you, that's one of my all time favorite piano trios. I wish they would release a full length DVD of themselves in concert. | |

| It was a good show! They started slow but really got into it in the middle of the third song. I had an ego moment- Monty came over to say hello before they started, and then the John Clayton (who also sort of knows me from summer jazz at port townsend) and Jeff Hamilton came over and hung out in my corner. To be honest, I think I was just sitting in the lucky spot, but cool none the less. I asked Monty to sign my old Montreaux album cover, which he did with a roll of his eyes :) | |

| I saw them here in Strasbourg (France) a couple of months ago, and it was a good moment. Jeff Hamilton is a monster drummer ! What a swing machine ! | |
