| Hi all, When buying a nord electro 2 should you go for the 73 keys? I was thinking about this, because i reasoned that i maybe is not possible to play walking bass while also soloing on a 61 keys Bacause the low register would be to high... am i right? It would suck though cause the 73 costs so much more | |

| I have the 73 and the bass sounds good with the Rhodes sounds and the B3 sound. I think that the Electro 61 would be just as effective because you can program the octave shift with the piano sounds. You also have an upper and lower split with the B3. I like using the Rhodes Stage 1 for Jazz. The walking bass sounds like an electric string bass and you can still throw in some rootless chords without it sounding muddy. The B3 sounds just like the old Hammond B3 I used to have in the '70's without the lbs. | |

| philip has described the ideal use of an Electro. I personaly would get the 73, it's still small and light, has more range, and a better resale value. | |

| I don't have *much* problem walking bass with a 61-key keyboard (using split), but it's a bit easier with more keys. If you're using the board with a second manual (recommended!) then I wouldn't worry about it. I'm only using a two-keyboard setup, so a 61-key board on top works well with a proper weighted board on bottom. | |
