I'm not the kind of person who sees a Bob James recording and has the urge to go out and buy it.  But I heard a Bob James acoustic trio recording yesterday and I was impressed.  Good solid jazz piano, no smoothisms or anything else that would want to make you puke at all in there.  Bob James has always been able to do anything he wants on the piano, but this acoustic trio stuff is pretty cool.
