| I'm planning on buying a piano synthesizer. My two options are a Yamaha S90ES (88-note) and a Roland Fantom X7 (76-note). I want to get a keyboard where I could create music as well as playing jazz piano live. Does anybody have any suggestion? Should I go for either the 88-note or 76-note synth. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks. | |

| This topic has been cussed and discussed many times on this site. Check out some of the earlier posts regarding keyboards. Many useful comments. | |

| The Yamaha S90ES and the Roland X7 are really good but very different. The X7 is not weighted but has a sequencer and the S90 weighted but doesn;t have a sequencer. Maybe the 88 key Motiff would be good for you.... Yeah, a 76 note keyboard would work for me fine if I have a bass player but alot of guys like having all 88. | |

| I own the S90ES, which is the same as the Motif ES without a sequencer, and I really enjoy it. In fact, there isn't a keyboard I'd trade it out for right now. | |

| I vote for the S90 ES too. It has the nicest pianos. later on you buy a motif ES 6 if you want to sequence or stuff like that. | |
