Any good?  I'm thinking of buying the book to learn how oscar gets that oscar sound.  Does anyone have any tips or rules that i should follow to get that bluesy mixed with bebop mixed with everything sound?

I think those transcriptions are very good. Though no written transcription can be 100% accurate,the Peterson transcritions match up well with the recordings.   I listened to a Piano Jazz segment where Eldar played a couple of pieces from Oscar's book and I saw Makoto Ozone discuss and perform them at a workshop. As far as tips go, I'll recommend the method that Makoto used. He listened to OP's recordings and transcribed them by ear first, then wrote them down later. Nothing he did was any different than what has been said many times. However, he kept at it for long time and had enough patience to achieve his goals. He told us that he "wanted to play like OP". Of course, he has his own style today, but he can really play just like OP note-for-note.

Best transcription book ever.  Buy it.  Worth every penny.  I learned sooo much from it, and I hear some of OP's lines sneaking into my solos.  The CD is great to just listen to, too, even though the bass is MIDI.  I want to be able to play all the way through Nightingle by the end of like the next month.  It's over 30 pages and is hard as hell but I loveeee the song.

Excellet, just what I wanted to hear, I really want to learn from it so sounds like the book for me.  Shall get it!
