LearnJazzPiano.com archives: What do you guys think of my recording of "Lush Life"?
ProAce -- 08/08/2007, 22:43:39 -- #36290
I haven't been playing jazz piano for the longest, and I'm classically trained, so I suppose that helps my technique alot. I do listen to jazz alot and I like to play as much as i can. Unfortunately, I don't have many people to play with, so I do alot of solo piano for fun. I recorded this off of my piano, so I'd like to know what you guys think of it, what I could change and make better. Thanks again!

ProAce- that looked like an ad if I ever saw one- I was messing around on that page for over a minute and could not get the file to download.  If you want to share your midi file, upload it here by clicking on the "attach file" (or similar) link and we'll talk about it.

Sorry, I don't see any link on this site that allows me to attach file, or am I overlooking something?

Haha ok, I WAS overlooking something. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The tempo seemed to change a bit, maybe slow in the middle?  Good beginning and ending however.

jmkans - Thanks for the reply! I was going for a more "rubato" or "free jazz" feel or whatever you wanna call until the tempo picks up.

I may have overdid it a bit in the beginning though. Towards the end i think i slowed down alot too

Not to beg, but I really would appreciate a bit more critique. Opinions of other jazz musicians are greatly helpful to me =)

Thank again
