A true genius of the musical "melodic" drum solo. He always nailed the form. I transribed many of his solos as a percussion major at Univ. of North Texas.

I have one of his Ludwig 4A drumsticks. He was playing with is regular quintet in the 1980's and the stick was slightly warped, so after about 5 minutes of use he tossed it to me and I have kept it ever since.
