You may remember me from my previous topic in which I recorded "route 66". I took many of your comments and made another recording of "All Blues" on electric piano. Things I tried to do in this one: 1) Steady tempo! To prepare I practiced with a metronome constantly. In the recording, I tried to keep the tempo as steady as possible, and at many spots you may be able to hear me struggling to keep up with my left hand. 2) Slowed down and focused on creativity instead of speed. I found that it came out more more melodic when I slow the music down and took my time and just had fun like what was suggested before 3) Kept it a bit more simple. I stuck with the bass pattern throughout and soloed on top of it. I used a "bright blues" pentatonic scale throughout with the solo. As a beginning jazz player, I felt the need to keep it simple for now, and try to come up with as many ideas within a scale as I can before I start doing more complex things. Is this the approach I should be taking? 4) Went straight into the soloing as I felt that's the part where I needed more work. Comments? Criticism? Concerns? It would be very appreciated. BTW of my favorite jazz pianist soloists of all time is Thelonious Monk, so you might be able to hear some of his influence in my playing =)

To slow for me  =) Keep uploading your midis. I'm gonna do the same soon (first I have to buy a midi cable that the local store doesn't have). I liked the "Monk's" dissonances chords.

The bass is steady.  Right hand is hesitant in some places, but maybe that is the effect you are going for.  You could do some more eg. throw in some Monk runs either ascending or descending.  Keep working on this ProAce you are almost there.
