Dominion of pentatonic scales is a powerful tool for improvisation. You may play any pentatonic against any chord. At "Albetan's Area" you will find two files about that stuff: "Beginning pentatonic scales" "Pentatonics on GIANT STEPS" Good luck and enjoy pentatonics.

I have uploaded a new file "Pentatonics against quartals" in room "Jazz Piano Exercises". Piano players have here 3 nice exercises on pentatonics / quartals. Pentatonics and quartals produce a jazzy and contemporary sound. No pianists may practice these exercises on pentatonics also. Good luck and enjoy pentatonics / quartals.
