| I want to share a very interesting sound someone showed me recently. When making a tritone substitution such as Eb for A, play the Eb7#11 (lydian dominant) scale in the right hand: Eb F G A Bb C Db Eb. Keep on playing an A in the left hand. This by itself sounds hip. Then to play broken chord in the RH, take the root and b7 of the ORIGINAL chord along with the 1 and 5 of the substitution: Bb Eb G A. Playing this scale and/or broken chord while keeping the original bass note is a great sound. | |

| Playing the Eb7#11 (lydian dominant) scale in the right hand: Eb F G A Bb C Db Eb on A7 is the same as the A7 alt scale (Bb melodic minor). | |
