| My question is really for Albetan, but I wanted to post it here in case anyone else would find it interesting... Here goes, I went to http://www.ethosbrasil.com/nav/partit.htm (thanks to Albetan) and noticed that Jobim tunes were credited to Tom Jobim. I had always thought his name was Antonio Carlos Jobim, Is "Tom" a sort of Latino nickname for "Antonio"? | |

| Tom was Jobim's lifelong nickname. Tom is the nickname for "Antonio" in Portuguese. | |

| You are right, Tom is a nickname for Antonio. Antonio Carlos Jobim for myself is the greatest composer in LatinAmerica. You are giving to me the credits for that excellent site... but i knew it thanks to smg. | |

| Antonio's grandson is touring with John Pizzarelli. I saw them in Edmonton AB. Daniel Jobim (the grandson) came on for a bossa nova set and sang and played a little piano. It was a nice touch. | |

| p, check out Pizzarelli's newer CD called Bossa Nova. Just got it yesterday. Ray sounds tremendous! I always hated One Note Samba until I heard him solo over it. Actually attempted to transcribe it last night. | |
