| Hi guys This may have been asked before but, how do you guys make your midi file recordings sound so good? I have a Yamaha CLP170 which records straight to its internal floppy drive...I can then play that back through th epiano and take an audio signal through the line out straight into a CD recorder and the recordings sound very similar to how fantastic my "yammie" sounds in real life so to speak. However, when playing my midi files back through my PC they sound nothing even remotely like the wav file created on the CD? Some of your midi recordings (...actually, that'll be most that I've heard here so far!) and especially "Scots" sound just like my wav files!! Is there a way to improve the quality of my midi files? regards Lee | |

| I'm not sure I understand, but, the sound quality of a midi file will depend on what you get the computer to play the midi file with. For example, on my setup here, Midi files sound better if I make my computer play my Yamaha keyboard, rather than letting it play the piano sound on it's own sound card. What I don't understand is why two midi files played from one PC could have a different piano sound - I think this could only happen if you changed your PC settings between playing back the files. | |

| Hi Gordon thanks for the reply...nope I don't change the settings? Scots midis sound better than mine. My midis sound like midis ...Scots sound almost as good as my wavs maybe, its just that he plays much much better than me...lol regards Lee | |
