| I'm playing a lot of walking bass lately and enjoying it. I know Dave McKenna has a bunch of solo piano albums with walking bass. Are there any other solo piano albums with a lot of walking bass? Gene Harris at Maybeck? Monty Alexander "So What"? Oscar's "Tracks"? | |

| The Walter Norris Maybeck recital hall recording isn't necessarily a lot of walking bass, but a lot of walking lines (melodic, counter point, bass, etc). Really complex but cool stuff. Monty doesn't do a lot of walking on his stuff, he's more into groove, even for swing. You might want to check some of the Marian McPartland stuff for walking bass- a lot of time with those two piano things going, one of the people walks bass a lot. I remember back when I was listening I got a lot of walking bass stuff from that radio show. | |
