| For those interested, Bud has scheduled his own workshop in Albuquerque next summer. He also tells the Centrum story in detail, from his perspective: http://www.budshankalto.com/BudsRoom.html | |

| Yeah, that's cool. LInda was telling about the New Mexico thing. I wonder how many Centrum faculty will go to New Mexico? Port Townsend is just such a NICE place to hang out... though I would imagine NM is OK too, just never been there. | |

| New Mexico is beautiful; I used to live in Colorado. LUCKILY - it appears Bud has scheduled his workshop the week BEFORE the Centrum Workshop, so maybe some faculty/students can attend both. I sure like Bud's workshop, but I agree that Port Townsend is like no other place. I love it. | |

| A week before? Man... I might be in Europe with the local chorus (managing and dealing with the band for accompanying). I think that's an OK trade-off though :) But if not... Who could actually go to two jazz workshops like Centrum in a row? My brain almost exploded after one week at Centrum. I'll go somewhere next year, but I'd like to go where Bill Mays and/or Randy Porter end up. I'd like to do another lesson with Bill, that's for sure. | |

| LOL, that's because you stay up all night! I'm too old for that. I go to bed and sleep! I could do two weeks in a row, if I could afford it! | |

| I don't stay up all night, I just stay up most of the night :) | |

| For info Bud and Linda say, "We are moving happily forward with moving the Workshop and Festival to New Mexico for July 2005 and pleased to say our entire faculty is coming with us." Kai | |

| Very cool. I would say that we all should try to go there if possible. I will boycot centrum, I have no loyalty to them- I only have loyalty to Bud. He's the guy that brought in Bobby Shew who said something to the combo I was in back in 1987 that still really sticks with me- don't play lines and stuff that you know, play stuff you don't know! | |

| I wanted to mention that if anyone sends message to Bud and/or Linda, be sure to plug this site as a great educational resource for jazz pianists :) Phil Woods, Dick Hyman, Marc Seales, Randy Halberstadt, Jerome Gray, and many others have actually visited this site and have all sent emails or told me in person basically how LJP blew them away when they checked it out. They send their students, students send their friends, etc. You would all be amazed at how much traffic this site gets. Only a small percentage of visitors actually leave messages. | |
