I agree with pink_liquorice: It's not easy to find a good teacher. Even when just finished their study at a conservatorium it's hard to teach in jazz and improvisation. For now I have found one but I notice that I don't know much about jazz/music harmony or that theoretical stuff. Since last week I noticed a conservatorium what is specialy meant for people who have a full time job and want to study piano. The first year is only theoretical and that's what you can do at home. You got homework, sent it to a personal teacher ... like that. It's good to see if you be able to study after your work.
I think I try that. Greetzz
10/16/2008 - II V or not II V, that's the question
I found another teacher more in the neighbourhood. He can learn me a lot of theory and he showed me all kind of II-V-I exercises. I learn them in all keys. So that's a lot of work. I hope I can soon practice them in jazz standards. For now I like to listen to Hiromi Uehara. She played once here in Holland and I was there. She's great. On Youtube you can see some video's. I hope some day we play together :)) I should have given her my number.
