Welcome to “Ryan’s Room!”

This room has been specifically set aside for everything that deals with jazz composition!

Some sample topics include:

  • Arranging/Orchestration Techniques
  • Chord/Scale Relationships
  • Favorite writers
  • Getting charts published
  • Just starting out
  • Notation (and/or Finale/Sibelius)
  • Performance Royalty Organizations
Why is composition so important for everyone here? One of the key foundations of jazz and becoming a killer player IS creativity (improvisation). In my opinion, the best possible way to develop your creative muscles (in addition to listening) is to write. I invite composers of all levels, therefore, to share their charts, midi files, lessons, and experiences for analysis, review and, of course, discussion!

Who am I? I invite you to sample some of my music at http://www.rycunmusic.com
