Steve Weingart-Keyboard Technique

has anybody checked out this book?  comments?  i just heard him on dave weckl's live cd and enjoyed his playing.  did a google search on him and found that he authored this book.

another guy that has caught my ear is jason robello (sp?) from sting's band.  check out his playing on sting's last two dvds "all this time" and "inside the songs of sacred love".

yeah larry, steve weingart plays his butt off...i haven't heard jason robello yet...too many great players!!

jason rebello (with an 'e' not an 'o') is a british jazz pianist. the most interesting fact about him was that a while ago, he gave up playing and disappeared to become a buddhist (i think) monk for a while. anyone, he's now back on the scene and playing with sting after the tragic death of kenny kirkland.

jason's stuff is a bit of a mixed bag really, although he has recorded some fairly straight ahead jazz trio material he has also done quite a bit of crossover, funky, souly sort of stuff - and on at least one occasion this happens on the same album!

there is also an interesting piano duo with jason and another english pianist called julian josephs on julian's 'live at the wigmore hall album'. they do maiden voyage in tribute to herbie and chick's famous duo gigs.

hope this is of interest.

i'll pull some snippets of jason's playing together for you whacky...sounds alot like kenny kirkland's playing with sting which i played for you many years ago. need to do lunch again soon!
