just a reminder that this coming september 15th marks the 25th anniversary of the passing of the great bill evans.  once again, we're encouraging musicians to contact jazz media outlets, and jazz radcio stations,so that this doesn't go by without some tributes, etc. last august would have been bill's 75th birthday, and that went by with not much happening, except a radio documentary or two. that such a giant of jazz piano, and such an amazing continuing influence, should warrant nary a mention, is a travesty of justice for the jazz world. we will report any news on www.billevanswebpages.com, so please come visit the site and be in touch. thanks.

how did bill evans pass away?  all these great musicians seem to die at a young age.
"evans' health was deteriorating, however, though he insisted on working until he finally had to cancel midweek during an engagement at fat tuesday's in new york. he finally had to be taken to mount sinai hospital on september 15, 1980, where he died from a bleeding ulcer, cirrhosis of the liver and bronchial pneumonia ."
