i have to pitch this because it is so cool!

as you may know i've been looking for another good source of music downloads.  the drm crap is really ticking me off -- it drastically complicates the process and, so far, i can't even get a download.  oh, i'm also trying to avoid another subscription (and particularly subscription-based music -- even worse!).

there's been some talk here about dave peck, a seattle artist so i went to his site.  it is "powered by artistshare."  this is a spot where artists can establish themselves on the web and offer, for the normal kinds of costs, their works as a download.  no drm, no subscription -- very clean.

it looks like it's got some growing to do but i was interested to note that bob brookmeyer is there and gil evans is coming!  i really like the concept thus my pitch.  check it out: http:/www.artistshare.com.

oops, missed a slash - https://www.artistshare.com.
i wonder if it's for "normal" people?  the names i saw there were all fairly big names.
If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.

Scot is available for skype jazz piano lessons (and google hangouts, phone call, etc...)

true.  i didn't go through the "new artists" link.  it looks like that's where you would join if you wanted to be a part of it.  i was of course looking at it from the point of view of a consumer.
