i've had the software "band in a box" for many years. my current version is band in a box version 12 for windows. although i've had it for a long time i've never really learned how to use it. also, recently i bought a yamaha keyboard p70 and connected it to my computer. i'm wondering if there are others out there who use this software and/or this keyboard?

it's a great tool to learn with, amongst many functions you can select which tracks you'd like to keep to play along, you can loop any section of a song, learn about embellishment and reharmonization, find ideas for soloing (soloist and melodist functions), there's even an ear training window,  etc etc ..

every musician should own this tools, even though it has been discussed in the past that the feel is rather stiff, and it doesn't sound as real as other play-along tools (aebersold), but the use is totally different, if you know where to find files to play into binab,  the resource is endless.
i have a smiliar setup and i use this system to workup arrangements
that i have started on the keyboard, but would like to hear a more
fleshed out sound.  often i only add bass and percussion.  i find that
the horns sound too imitation for my taste.
i use it often to make aebersold-like rhythm arrangements for the tunes in my repertoire.  i will often make 1 cd full of several different versions (tempos, substitutions, etc.) of the same tune.
