it's called "if you only knew". it's on a few oscar peterson cds. this version is off the cd called 'oscar peterson live' issued on pablo recorded in 1986 at a concert at the westwood playhouse. the number of the cd is pacd-2310-940-2

he also recorded it live on the cd 'saturday night at the blue note' on telarc. one of four cds worth having.

there is also a great version he did, a duet in fact with benny green on the cd 'tribute to oscar peterson: live at the town hall'
also on telarc.

in addition to this benny green recorded a stunning version on a cd called ray brown trio live at scullers. the playing on "if you only knew" is great but there are incredible versions of bye bye blackbird, but not for me and freddie freeloader. i strongly suggest you get this cd.

the tune is in the key of d major, and i transcribed it several years ago. unfrotunately i've lost the transcription.

scot,

to play the file you must download it first. mediafire is file hosting service only.
thanks andre!

i think that "if you only knew" is not a standard nor well known. did peterson write it?
