"Killer Joe" Voicings

can anyone clue me in as to what "killer joe" piano voicings are? i see them referred to in various places but i can't find an explation for how they are built.

they are interesting voicings for unaltered dominant chords - spreading the notes evenly over more than 2 octaves - a tritone on the bottom then a stack of perfect 4ths. i first read of them being called this in one of jerry coker's books on improv.
benny golson's song 'killer joe' has this distinctive piano backing figure behind the melody - but often the 2nd chord (on bb13) retains the same notes in the right hand (d,g,c) as the left hand moves down a tone (ab,d,g).
