wow, thanks for all the nice comments and positive feedback.  it's very heartening to get that from other players you respect - especially fellow pianists!

mike, yeah beautiful love is a good tune and it was bill evans that turned me on to it too.  it really doesn't seem to get played much over here as well although, if you haven't heard it, i would recommend checking out the jim hall/michel petrucciani version on the album 'the power of three'.  would love to hear your version as well - i'll definitely look forward to that.

7 and dr w, that's actually my old technics p50 i'm playing (and that's the onboard piano sound going through a roland kc500).  you're right 7, the sound was recorded by the cameras' on-board mics and it wasn't mixed afterwards - that's just how it came out.  for posting on the web i think the sound quality is fine.

i don't know what to suggest for your stage sound.  as you know, most manufacturers don't make stand-alone modules now, probably due to the rise of software sound sources.

other than a laptop or something second-hand, i don't know what to suggest.  i wish somebody would make a hardware module as i'm sure it would sell...

if you come up with anything,  let us know as i wouldn't mind beefing up my stage sound as well but have big reservations about using a laptop on gigs.
